Welcome MommieT
And the WT clock just keeps on ticking..........
this weekend at our special assembly day, let gods will take place the final talk was a head shaker.... the bethel speaker was quite entertaining when he joked @ the shortcomings of the elders.
he also made us laugh with the comment "we were told the end of the system is right around the corner, but we've found its been more than that, we've been around the blocks a few times.
" he told the young ones to make the truth their own by researching in the wtbts publication (only).
Welcome MommieT
And the WT clock just keeps on ticking..........
i know that i've had a hard time piecing things back together after losing my wife and family a couple years ago and haven't really gotten the ball rolling to say the least.
just curious to hear if anyone else is in the same boat, or was in the same boat and how long it took them to get a "new life" figured out and going..
IDTW - Sorry to hear you're having a hard time right now. It will get better. For me the hardest part of leaving was the social aspect. I recommend moving forward the best way you know how. Do just one thing that's new to you and you'll start to feel better.
You'll get more support on this topic soon, I'm sure. It's Saturday so everyone is probably running around.
Maybe you could elaborate just a little on what you're having a hard time with for more suggestions.
it seems i pooped up out of nowhere.
i been following this site for a while.
couldn't resist it anymore..... was pretty much raised a jw.
Welcome SS.
My siblings and I remain close even though I've left. Trying to get them out and hoping they'll make it out alive. My sister, bil and their kids are as good as out (fingers crossed). My brothers are still trapped. One more so than the other. Just found out from my sister this evening that one of my brothers has rejoined the ranks of full time servants (as those really fooled are called). I just spent the afternoon with him and he didn't mention it at all.
I'm sick to my stomach right now. I had actually thought he was the closest to making it out.
Thanks for the post OTWO. Keep hope alive y'all.
CULT CLASSIC
at this year's dc we heard the org's analysis on climate change and the deteriorating ozone layer.
we were told that jehovah will destroy those who destroy the earth, including those who chop down trees that are supposed to give oxygen in exchange for our carbon dioxide.. surely such a big corporation should have done a thourough research and found that they are also culprits.
they print millions, if not billions, of literature each year.
Good Point AGBM
long story short, i have been a jw for the pst 7 years.
i am married with 2 kids.
hubby is a die hard jw who is an ms and would like to be elder.
Welcome to you AngelFace.
Just wanting to add that your husband asking "Do I have to witness to you now?", might indicate that he is burdened down with the preaching activity and/or he's tired of convincing himself. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
The advice given is some of the best out there. Keep us posted.
i have been meaning to post my experience at the pioneer school and i will as soon as time permits but theres something that has happened recently in my life that has impacted me in such a horrible way that i just have to get off my chest.. as you may know ive been trying to fade.
its very hard.
hard as hell.
"Wait on Jehovah to fix things."
That's the attitude usually taken by the witnesses in matters of civil rights. The witnesses aren't pioneers in spreading liberties, they often just mirror the social climate of the locale they're in. It just doesn't make sense that a religion chosen by Jesus would have been so behind the times when it came to racial issues. They should have been front and center proclaiming the fact that all of us belong to the human race.
i was just flipping through the oct 15 witness only wt about fred rusk as someone on this board had posted about it.. one point that really caught my attention was when fred was talking about being raised by his aunts and how they forced him to attend the baptists church.
he says in his own words "grandfather's older daughters managed the household.
although he was not a religious man, his daughters were strict southern baptists.
LITS - Also what was with the point that he like school sports? Again such hypocrisy
That's what I was wondering.
Irondork/Designs - Oh I get it... JW logic... Where's my head?
Still stupid comment though...lol
For a many years this has been used as a guest room.
Guest rooms are for those visiting long-time Bethelites, and Bethelites visiting the city from Wallkill/Patterson or abroad. Also, those on special assignment for WT might use the rooms. I.E. JW/non JW legal teams, temporary medical personnel, branch committee members, missionaires, etc. It is a great "privilege" to stay in one of the guest rooms. You have a pass/key and have access to all meals, laundry and cleaning services. And you are allowed to attend morning worship, the WT study and lectures.
HAPPY!!! HAPPY!!!
